三、教學目標 Objectives
成長小說(教育小說)是小說的重要文類。許多名作家都寫過有關成長經驗的小說或短篇小說,呈現故事中的主角如何經由某個難忘的經驗而得到啟發或感到幻滅,這可以稱為一種象徵性的成長儀式,或靈現。本課程主要閱讀以成長為主題的名家精選短篇故事。藉由閱讀十五到十七篇的短篇小說,透過討論,學生學習思考與分析,並藉由故事中類似的成長經驗而得到啟發。。
Bildungsroman is an important sub-genre in fiction. Many famous authors have written novels and stories concerning the experience of growing up to show how a character becomes illuminate d or disillusioned through some unforgettable events, a symbolic rite of passage, or epiphany. This course will focus on short stories on the theme of growing up. Students will read 15 to 17 coming-of-age stories and discuss them through reflecting on their own growing up experience.
