三、教學目標 Objectives
本課程將由心理、社會、文化層面,帶領學生由性別、性取向、族群、階級等向度,探討暴力形成的因素,並透過女性主義社會學觀點,探討性別暴力相關議題,希望達到下列課程目標:
1.藉由文獻閱讀、思辦與討論文獻,幫助同學瞭解性暴力問題之相關理論及論述。
2.從現代人的觀念看性暴力,啟發同學從性別視角檢視自身的處境,檢視兩性的權力結構與文化再現。
3.'性暴力被害人'主體地位的確認與省思,社會工作專業對'倡議'的態度與可能的位置。

This course is designed to investigate the factors of sexual assault in terms of gender, sexual orientation, ethnic, class and other dimensions through psychological, social, and cultural aspects. By discussing issues related to gender-based violence adopting feminism sociological perspectives, the objectives of this course are as follows:

1) To facilitate students’ understanding of sexual violence theories and its discourse;
2) to inspire students to examine their own situation from a gender perspective, as well as gender power structures and cultural reproduction;
3) to encourage students’ ongoing reflection with the dominant position of sexual violence victims and to aware that advocacy is at the foundation of social work GVB practice.

四、課程內容 Course Description
整體敘述 Overall Description
Three expected readings outcomes:
-To raise awareness of Gender-Based Violence (GBV);
-To get students to reflect on the link between GBV and protection
in a given context;
-To discuss/share responses, strategies, and support mechanism to reduce
and respond to incidents of GBV.

Module design:
Unit 1: Violence against Women: A Global Perspective
Discussions of cultural context, multiculturalism, patriarchy,
gender inequalities, feminist perspectives, reproductive rights,
religion, and human rights provide some of the background
for the study of violence against women in the society that we live.

Unit 2: Intimate Partner Abuse
to present theories about intimate partner abuse as well as incidence statistics
associated with violence against women worldwide. Women’s sexual orientation is
discussed, both in terms of women’s vulnerability to violence and as a factor
informing human rights discussions.

Unit 4: Women, Sexual Violence, and Exploitation
To present some of the debates surrounding prostitution.
It looks at the sex-trafficking industry as a pervasive and extreme form
of violence against women, and discusses the influence of “development”
and “globalization”on women’s health and well-being.


Unit 5: Strategies and Solutions

備註:
1.本課程於第一週選出一名同學擔任課程之TA,負責影印與分配閱讀及投影設備之統籌安排。
2.關於專題(口頭)報告:修課同學請於第10週前選定主題並提出文獻與授課老師討論主題的合適性,報告之同學必須準備PPt與紙本報告大綱給出席之同學。
3.修課同學必須每週事先閱讀該週上課之材料。同時,依分配輪流閱讀文章,導讀同學需於一週前先提供閱讀摘要做為其他修課同學輔讀工具,亦做為授課老師評分之依據。

五、考評及成績核算方式 Grading

出席 30%1.出席與課程的勞動力。 2.每週要針對當週的reading 材料撰寫閱讀 memo。(約一兩頁A4,至少繳交五次)。
專題發表 30%期末專題報告,自選一個性/別暴力議題,或是一個性侵害研究的次領域,進行文獻回顧與評述(針對此一議題/主題在當前國內外的相關文獻與研究,綜合討論在研究問題、實務價值、概念範畴、理論觀點分析的角度上的呈現與發展,並分析目前在各個面向上的侷限與對未來的想像提出愈具體的想法愈好)。口頭報告結束後,再依照回應人的意見酌修,最後繳交完整的紙本作業。期待最後可改寫成投稿文章。
導讀(口頭報告) 30%1.課堂中將分配到3-4篇左右的文獻,負責導讀並對文章提出評析與議題討論。
2.擔任導讀的同學,必須提前一週提供導讀摘要,做為同學輔讀之工具。
  10%附注:教師保留期末微調個人成績之權利。
