三、教學目標 Objectives
This course, ushering students to the dawn of Western literature, aims to familiarize students with the Bible, Greek mythology and classical masterpieces recurrently alluded to in modern literary works. Through reading the required texts, students can better understand the Western humanist tradition and learn how to read a literary work critically.

四、課程內容 Course Description
整體敘述 Overall Description
This course introduces students to the history and canons of Western literature, starting from the Old Testament, Greek Mythology, epics and tragedies. Students will learn from this course not merely Judeo-Christian and Greco-Roman traditions embedded in Western literature but also literary techniques and motifs that recur in literary works.
