三、教學目標 Objectives
This course is designed to nurture in students an interest in the Chinese Mainland affairs and cross-strait relations. Through an in-depth analysis of China’s politico-economic developments as well as the past trajectory of cross-strait relations, students are expected to learn to appreciate the nature and potential future trends of these relations.

ALL STUDENTS PLEASE TAKE NOTICE:
Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the school authority has decided that all classes be conducted online from 2021-9-22 through 2021-10-5 (i.e. for the first three weeks of this semester. Therefore this class will be taught via MICROSOFT Teams platform. Students must use course code: z5zg42m to obtain access to this course online.

a. This class will be conducted in a manner befitting a seminar. Interactions between the instructor and students are expected and encouraged. Topics to be discussed will be presented with the aid of PowerPoint slide show. Audio/video materials may also be shown whenever available and deemed necessary.
b. Each week students are required to collect at least 1 piece of current economic/business/trade news concerning mainland China from the mass media and share the news with fellow students. 30 minutes of class time each week will be allocated for this endeavor.
