三、教學目標 Objectives
本課程將檢視自17世紀至20世紀以來，美國史學家對歷史解釋的轉變與發展，藉以理解不同時期史學家關注的議題，以及同時期史學家對相同議題分析與解釋的差異。
This course explores numerous historical approaches over a variety of subjects in American history, students are required to understand the questions that different kinds of historians ask and the diverse methodologies they use to get at their subjects.

學期報告360%1. 修課同學須完成三份，每份至少6頁的學期報告。報告繳交日期為10/20、11/24、1/5。
2. 報告繳交次週(10/27、11/21、1/12)，每位同學需於課堂上進行20分鐘的課堂報告。
每份報告須閱讀至少一份與美國歷史相關、且主題相近的二手出版品，報告內容須明確說明出版品的內容，並具體比較彼此觀點的異同。
3. 報告遲交、未交、抄襲，均以零分計算。
