四、課程內容 Course Description
整體敘述 Overall Description
This course introduces key concepts of English semantics (語意學) based on Charles Kreidler’s Introducing English Semantics. Each week consists of a 1-hour interactive lecture (with a clear PPT outline) and a 1-hour worksheet session emphasizing peer learning and inter-group sharing. Contextualized examples draw on Taiwanese culture, with bilingual support (English with Mandarin Chinese) to aid understanding. Assessment components include a Midterm group presentation, a Final group presentation, weekly reflection journals, and participation in in-class tasks. Students maintain an English reflection journal (with Mandarin notes as needed) throughout the course to connect semantic theory to personal language experiences.
