三、教學目標 Objectives
本課程目標為討論商業主題與詳細探討選擇的產業。課堂上以英語溝通，大部分會利用報章雜誌的文章作為討論內容。不須特別的商業詞彙與知識。
The purpose of the class is to discuss some topics in business and look at selected industries in more detail. The class will be oral-centered and most learning will be done through newspaper and magazine articles. No special knowledge of business terms or concepts is required.
四、課程內容 Course Description
●整體敘述 Overall Description Presentation: The presentation will involve interviewing a (foreign or Taiwanese) businessperson in English and presenting his or her business to the class. A MP3 file of the interview with a complete transcript will be required as well along with a detailed written report analyzing the business. The above should only be used as a guideline and may be changed by the teacher at any time. The teacher reserves the right to make changes without advance notice. The students are responsible for all material covered in class.

Course Grading: Midterm 25% Final 25% Article Activity Sheets 25% Presentations 25% Attendance can have an impact on your grade if you miss too much class time. Students missing more than 360 minutes (6 hours) will have their grade reduced by the following formula: Minutes Absent Adjustment to the Final Grade 0 - 360 0 361 - 480 -5% 381 - 599 -10% 600 - 719 -20% >719 -40% No one missing more than 719 minutes of class will be allowed to pass the course regardless of the reason. In addition, your final grade can be adjusted up (or down) by as much as 10% if the teacher feels that the student has made an effort far above (or below) the general level of the other students. If you hope to increase your grade try the following: Increasing Your Grade Reducing Your Grade • Talk often • Don’t talk • Ask questions • Miss a lot of classes • Prepare before class • Never prepare for class • Don’t be late or absent • Arrive late often • Use only English • Speak Chinese in class No Chinese Rule: If the teacher hearing you using Chinese in class you will receive a red ‘C’ and your final grade will be reduced by 1%. The first three ‘Cs’ are free and will incur no penalty.
