三、教學目標 Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
Write well-organized comparison and contrast essays as well as argumentative essays with clear thesis statements, logical progression, and effective use of supporting evidence.
Enhance Sentence Construction: Improve sentence structure by understanding and applying various grammatical elements, including clauses, participles, and participial phrases to create more sophisticated and coherent writing.
Engage in Interactive Learning: Utilize MyEnglishLab to reinforce writing skills through interactive exercises, grammar drills, and structured feedback.
Apply Writing Techniques: Complete practice exercises and projects that focus on refining writing mechanics, coherence, and style.
Develop Critical Thinking and Argumentation Skills: Construct well-reasoned arguments, evaluate different perspectives, and apply logical reasoning to strengthen written discourse.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:

1. Students are expected to write and use myEnglishlab for weekly practices.
2. A process approach to writing will be emphasized; hence, assignments can include
revising, rewriting, editing, and proofreading in response to classmate and/or teacher
feedback.
3. Attention should be given to mechanics and format of writing, including headings, titles,
indenting, punctuation, paragraphs, etc.
4. Students should have the understanding of what plagiarism is and how to avoid it.
5. No grade will be given to those who do not present their midterm or final projects on the stage.
6. Late assignments or projects will be discounted by 30%.
If you use GenAI tools (e.g. Chat GPT) or any large language models at any point in the preparation of my manuscript, please clearly disclose the use in the writing, including name of the GenAI tool used (with which version ),and the reason for use.
This course requires in-class writing.
Please prepare your own computer and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
