||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The course is designed to accomplish three main goals: 1. Increase your knowledge of OB concepts to understand and analyze how organizations and the people within them work. 2. Provide you with opportunities to apply OB concepts to real-world problems managers face. 3. Develop your leadership and management potential. Effective leaders often manage people and information to accomplish organizational goals under conditions only partially in their control. Leaders must successfully be able to diagnose problems, communicate clearly, make effective decisions, motivate and influence others, manage diversity, and drive organizational change. |

Course Description | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Overall Description The purpose of this class is to provide students with an introduction to Organizational Behavior (OB). The ability to manage an organization, its groups, and its individuals are essential. In your careers, you will depend on people to accomplish tasks, goals, and projects; you will need to work for other people, work with other people, and supervise other people. The course focuses on OB at three levels: individual, interpersonal, and collective. At the individual, we will focus on individual attitudes and behaviors, motivation, personality, and decision-making process. At the interpersonal level, we will cover power, influence tactics, and negotiations. Finally, we will explore leadership and organizational context at the collective level. |
