The evaluation will focus on the quality of the proposal, presentation skills, and teamwork. Each group will create a PowerPoint presentation and deliver it in a 30-minute session, followed by a 5-minute Q&A. This exercise aims to enhance students’ communication abilities, foster collaboration, and encourage practical application of their learning. Groups will receive feedback from peers and the instructors after their presentation.
Evaluation Criteria:

1. How can managers effectively communicate policy changes regarding remote work to ensure transparency and maintain trust among employees who may have different work arrangements?
2. In what ways can managers address and mitigate feelings of unfairness or resentment among employees who are unable to work remotely, while still supporting those who can?
3. What communication strategies can managers employ to foster a cohesive team environment and maintain morale when some employees work remotely and others do not?

Case 2: Korean Air: The “Nut Rage” Incident
1. How should she have reacted in the face of the service failure?
2. Why had she become the target of a public backlash?
3. What could Korean Air do to mitigate the negative effects of this incident?

Case 3: When Your Star Player Asks to Go Part Time
1. How can managers effectively communicate with a star employee who requests to transition to part-time work, ensuring that their value to the team is recognized while addressing the potential impact on the organization?
2. In what ways can managers communicate the decision and its rationale to the rest of the team to maintain transparency and morale, especially if the star player's role significantly contributes to the team's success?
3. Provide an example of a communication strategy a manager might use to negotiate a mutually beneficial arrangement when a top performer wants to reduce their hours. How can this strategy help in retaining the employee while maintaining team productivity?

Case 4: Was That Harassment?

2. How can managers balance confidentiality with transparency when communicating the outcomes of harassment investigations to maintain trust and uphold organizational integrity?
3. Can you give a real-world example of how a manager's communication approach during a harassment investigation could either positively or negatively impact the trust and morale of the team?

Please be specific in your answer, the more specific, the better. The report should be in PowerPoint slides and within 10 pages. Throughout the report, feel free to use specific references to course readings and lectures to add credence to your diagnoses and recommendations.
